Presented by Nyaz Didehbani, PhD who is a neuropsychologist and an Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in neuropsychological assessment with a primary interest in examining individuals with sports-related concussion and neurocognitive disorders. She served on the Executive Board of the Sports Neuropsychology Society and as the Chair for the Women in Leadership Committee of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.
Learning objectives for this webinar include:
- Explain how hormonal fluctuations and sex-specific physiology may influence concussion risk, symptom severity, and recovery in female athletes.
- Interpret prevalence and recovery data on girls and women in sports-related concussion across age groups.
- Implement gender-informed, evidence-based strategies in concussion assessment and management for female athletes.
